Directors and Management
The board currently consists of three directors, being Mr Christopher Dunks, Dr Geoff Duckworth and Mr David King. Their profiles are set out below.
Christopher Dunks BEng(Mech) - Managing Director, Founder
Christopher has spent the past 19 years working on major minerals processing, refining and power projects both in Australia and the USA. He is also a founder of Synergen Met and a mining development company which is now listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). Christopher’s experience is in mechanical design, construction management and supervision, project controls, project management, contract negotiation, business development and new technology commercialisation.
Dr. Geoff Duckworth - Executive Director, Founder
Geoff has over 30 years of experience, predominantly in project development, process design and process design management. Geoff’s experience covers a wide spectrum of industries including oil refining, petrochemicals, inorganic chemicals, fertilisers, mineral dressing, hydrometallurgy, metals refining, food processing and effluent treatment.
David King Non-Executive Director, Founder
David has an extensive background in the capital markets, having worked in the Investment Banking divisions of JPMorgan and BNP Paribas. David led Debt Capital Markets teams in Sydney, Tokyo, New York and London, holding such positions as Head of European Corporate Debt Capital Markets for BNP Paribas and Associate Director for Private Banking at ANZ. In these roles, David assisted BHP Billion, Anglo American, Rio Tinto, Santos and Woodside with debt raisings in the international capital markets. David now runs a successful training organisation, Vue Consulting.
In addition to our management team, Synergen Met is working closely with the University of Queensland (UQ) under an Australian Research Council (ARC) Grant. The esteemed members of our UQ team are:
Professor Victor Rudolph Ph.D, M.Eng (Chem), B.Eng (Chem)
Victor is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland. Victor works with technologies associated with Energy and Environment, encompassing both fossil and bio–energy. This research has resulted in over 175 publications, the promotion of 16 PhD and 7 MEng candidates. Victor provides oversight to the site-based team.
